Hey, what about some of the things that we do everyday, and don't even give it a second thought. I'm talking about the small everyday habits that we do and don't even realize what we are doing. I took it one day at a time. It's hard to do at first, but i promise it gets better each day. So lets start to slim our habits....
1. Get enough sleep. A lack of shut eye can make you snack. It's been proven that if you got only 5 1/2 hours of sleep, you will be snacking more during the day.
2. Pay attention to your tummy Put down that fork when you're satisfied. Listen to your body's cues, instead of clearing that plate. Also start eating on a smaller plate.
3. Kick the soda habit A 12 oz. soda has about 150-180 calories. If you drink 2-3 a day, you're getting lots of extra calories. So lay off the soda, even diet. Remember the day when soda was a treat. Well treat it like that and drink agua!
4.Going to the movies? Smuggle in your own. Put that pot on the stove, add about 2 tbs of olive oil in it, add popcorn, cover, turn to high and pop. Once done put it in a large bowl, and I use spray butter. Butter it up and add some seasoning.
5.Think thin when it comes to pizza. Eat 2 slices of a medium thin crust beggie pizza (360 calories) instead of 2 slices of a large, meaty deep-dish pizza (940 calories).
6.Check the number of servings in a dish. The calorie count on the menu may say something is 500 calories, when actually what is set in front of you may contain a serving for 4. Plan on spliting dishes with your company. If you are still hungry, order something else. Who said you can only order one dish? Plan small.
7.Limit salad toppings. Elain loved that big salad and i do to, but becareful with the toppings. Cheese crumbles, bacon, dried fruit, croutons, and of course creamy dressings can add lots of calories. Try bell peppers, mushrooms and unsalted sunflower seeds. If you find it hard to let go of your ranch dressing, make sure you ask for a cup and put the dressing on the side. Dip the fork in the dressing, then stab your salad.
